The Federation of Alpes-Maritimes for Fishing and Aquatic Environment Protection (FDAAPPMA 06), in partnership with its 20 associations, has deployed all necessary means to ensure that the new 2011 fishing season will be favorable for its anglers (7,939 licenses in 2010).
The fishing-nature workshops (APN) are ready to welcome children and adults, as part of the educational actions for the protection and preservation of aquatic environments. Technicians have conducted fish studies and inventories to determine which watercourses need protection and repopulation, and finally, the Roquebilliรจre fish farming center is preparing to deliver several thousand surplus trout for restocking in suitable streams.
A brief overview of the new 2011 fishing licenses
The “Holiday” license is now available all year round! It allows fishing in the 1st and 2nd categories using all fishing methods for a period of 7 consecutive days.
The creation of a new reciprocal union in the North and East of France (URNE) allows the expansion of inter-federal reciprocity and the establishment of an inter-federal “adult” license valid in the 3 regional clubs CHI/EHGO/URNE.
This is an annual license at a flat rate of โฌ85, valid in the 1st and 2nd categories, permitting all fishing methods in 89 departments.
Reciprocity is free between the departments of CHI (Interdepartmental Angling Club) and EHGO (Grand West Angling Agreement), but it is chargeable (โฌ25 extra) between CHI/EHGO and URNE.
From January 1, 2012, anglers will have the possibility to purchase their fishing licenses online.
What is the first category?
First category fishing involves the fish most familiar to the public, such as salmonids like trout.
It begins on March 12 (second Saturday of March) and ends on September 18, 2011 (third Sunday of September).
In all mountain lakes located at an altitude greater than 1,800 m, fishing is allowed from July 2 to September 18, 2011.
What about other fish?
Next is pike fishing, which opens on May 1 and closes on December 31, 2011.
Let’s remember that it is allowed to fish for whitefish all year round.
Every freshwater angler carries a citizen’s mission!
Fishing, originally a food activity, has become over the years a recreational and ecological leisure. It has earned its noble stature by approaching the practice as a means of engaging in the protection and enhancement of aquatic environments and fish species.
The essential mission of anglers is to preserve this valuable resource so that future generations can enjoy the exceptional heritage that our rivers, lakes, and their inhabitants represent: the fish.
The 20 approved associations for fishing and aquatic environment protection of Alpes-Maritimes invite anglers to join them: for only โฌ5 for those under 12 and โฌ18 for those aged 12 to 18.
For โฌ30, mothers can accompany them to fish along our beautiful and majestic rivers.
A unique annual price of โฌ85 is reserved for adults. As for occasional anglers, they will have the option to get a license for 7 consecutive days at โฌ30 or a daily license at โฌ15.
