Discovery, nature, culture: here are five places around Nice to escape for a few days at a low cost

Thereโ€™s something for everyone! Around Nice, there are many villages and seaside towns to delight visitors. Being served by train and bus, the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region offers a plethora of places to escape from daily life. Not to mention the Nice international airport, which allows those who desire it to take a break in a nearby European city. Focus on five destinations, more or less close to Nice, but always at the lowest cost.

Weekend in the Eternal City

Capital of Italy, Rome boasts thousands of years of history. And if you never had the chance to visit it, now might be the time to go. The Colosseum, the Pantheon, St. Peterโ€™s Basilica, the Roman Forum, and even the Trevi Fountain. A city radiant from every angle.

For less than two hundred euros round-trip, take off for Rome. A weekend or longer if preferred. From the Nice airport, you can find flights with prices ranging from one hundred to one hundred and eighty euros. Donโ€™t wait any longer.

And for the more adventurous (and economical), the Flixbus company offers overnight trips from Nice to Rome for much less (approximately around sixty euros). However, count on twelve hours of travel.

The Beauty of Corsica

If you are looking for a wild, authentic getaway while staying in France, Corsica is just a few hours away by boat.

For one hundred and fifty euros, escape for four days to Bastia and discover the Haute-Corse department. Its beaches, its mountains, and of course, its picturesque villages. A guaranteed change of scenery. Special mention for hiking and nature walk enthusiasts: you will be in paradise.

The Mythical Cannes

Its mythical beaches, the Boulevard de la Croisette, the Palais des Festivals. Cannes fascinates. So why not take a tour there for a weekend? An excursion to the Lรฉrins Islands is also possible.

And for those short on time, the city is only a thirty-minute train ride from Nice. An excursion that can thus be done in a single day. Why wait? A train ticket from Nice to Cannes costs a bit less than ten euros.

The Village of Entrevaux

Nestled in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, this small village enchants many of its visitors. With the Var flowing on either side, discover the fortified town of Entrevaux, its citadel, and its small streets. On beautiful days, you can even enjoy some peace by the Var. A total change of scenery is assured.

It is possible to reach the commune of Entrevaux with the bus 630 from the Promenade des Anglais, then the 675. Count only two euros and ten cents for a journey of around two hours. The advantage: stop earlier if you fall in love with another village in the Nice hinterland.

Overlooking the Mediterranean at รˆze

A village, perched in the heights. Between Nice and Monaco. Discover a medieval city almost frozen in time, on its rock. And cobbled streets, in ancient stone. From up there, a breathtaking panorama of the sea. In case of heat, it is also possible to go down to the lower part of the village, by the seaside.

An unmissable visit just a dozen kilometers from Nice. Count a good half an hour by car or only fifteen minutes by train (and less than ten euros for a round trip). No need to travel hundreds of kilometers to escape.
