Fully unleashing himself in his sketches, he comes on stage strapped in a straitjacket. After shedding it, he takes on a multitude of characters in turn, opening them like drawers inside the mind of a madman. Thus, he successively portrays a self-absorbed actor, an uncompromising fairground vendor, a rugby coach from the Southwest – and proud of it, an alcoholic sommelier, and an artist in search of himself.
Instead of imitating people he’s met, the young comedian turns towards a delightful and transgressive caricature. He also makes sure to involve the audience in his show, responding to spectators’ reactions with evident talent. Not to forget, he references his own pop-culture throughout. During his performance, one might catch references to the Teletubbies, Emmanuelle Béart, or even MacGyver through his jokes. Florent Peyre drives his one-man show at a breakneck pace, concluding with a humorous “drinker’s tirade,” inspired by the famous “nose speech” from Cyrano de Bergerac.
