The FN provides us with this statement from its departmental secretary Lydia Schenardi (member of the Political Bureau).

The election of François HOLLANDE as President of the French Republic was not a real surprise, as the polls, mathematically, fairly accurately predicted this victory.
It was not a surprise for the National Front either. Indeed, after deceiving the FN electorate in 2007 with unfulfilled promises, and showing contempt by calling for a socialist vote in FN/PS electoral duels, it was to be expected that this electorate would not repeat its mistake. The rejection was such that the antics and the plundering of our program by Nicolas Sarkozy during the run-off served no purpose.
Today, the National Front appears as the only opposition force in our country where, for five years of Sarkozyism, his parliamentary majority was unable to anticipate the crisis and the despair of our compatriots in the face of the worsening social and economic situation of our country, nor was it able to anticipate the expectations and the rise of the National Front electorate.
Next June, it will be necessary to send to the National Assembly a group of elected representatives supported by Marine Le Pen, who will genuinely oppose socialist proposals and who will have the courage to follow through on their convictions.
