This Thursday marked the inauguration of the International Folklore Festival “La Farandole” in Nice. Until Sunday, various groups will parade through several places in the city. One word to remember: a pride for the Azurean capital.
Brazil, Kazakhstan, United States, Philippines, and Wallis and Futuna. Five countries are being honored for the 65th Nice Folklore Festival, “La Farandole”. Yesterday, at the city hall, representatives of the city, such as Anthony Borré, the first deputy mayor, along with the Traditional Arts Collective – Lou Cat were present to introduce and kick off the festivities.
Three days of celebration and activities. After gathering at the city hall, the five groups from around the world paraded on the green corridor before taking the stage at Place Saint Francois.

“Always a pride for our mayor to host this 65th festival in his city,” says the first deputy to the microphone. He emphasizes the mayor of Nice’s desire to highlight cultures from around the world. Relaunched in 2017, this event is an opportunity to offer entertainment to the people of Nice while also allowing them to learn about different traditions.
A Cohesive Organization
La Farandole is above all about a lot of preparation. In collaboration with the city, the Traditional Arts Collective – Lou Cat has brought together about sixty volunteers to successfully conduct this 2024 edition. Communication team, technical team, a team effort that made it possible to organize three full days of activities.
