This Tuesday at 1 PM, the press conference was held to officially announce Christophe Galtier as the new coach of the Aiglons. It was an opportunity for him and the president to explain a bit more about Nice’s ambitions.
The new coach spoke about his decision to come to Nice: “In my mind, it was clear early in the season, for me and my family, to leave Lille regardless of the season’s outcome. So, I looked at projects that could interest me, and I quickly thought that Nice could suit me.” He added that money was not the reason for his coming and that OGC is not starting from scratch: “The club has facilities, strong potential, and I believe I’m the kind of coach who brings a club to the top from a good foundation.” The former coach of the Dogues expressed pride in having led them to the title.
“Regarding the squad, the goal is for it to be competitive,” he said, adding that he does not yet know what will happen in the coming weeks. The former coach of ASSE affirmed that it is an ambitious project. Concerning the squad for the next season, the management and the coach assure that it is far too early to make decisions, but that the integration of young players at the moment allows for much more complete sessions. The club claims to be able to keep its best elements, which is the essence of ambition.
At the end of the conference, Christophe addressed a message to the supporters, expressing pride and eagerness to meet them, “it’s sincere,” he asserted before adding that he would ensure that the team could express itself with as much energy as the supporters exude.
