Football: Make as much noise as possible against cancer

Latest News

Last weekend, all across France, the League Against Cancer celebrated its centenary. To mark the event, activities were organized in many cities. At noon, the association’s members made noise like a cry of “anger,” which echoed throughout France in every committee.

In Cagnes-sur-Mer, the League joined forces with the French Football Federation (FFF) to maximize awareness in the fight against cancer through the influence and power of the football world. The first goal of the weekend was to score 100 goals to celebrate the association’s 100 years. About a hundred young football players aged between 12 and 15 took turns in one-on-one sessions with a goalkeeper to accomplish this initial challenge.

At the Pierre Sauvaigo stadium in Cagnes-sur-Mer, mixed teams, consisting equally of girls and boys who were very motivated by the cause, then participated in a giant “clapping”. A jovial atmosphere to fight against cancer and show the FFF’s support in the research against the disease. With images broadcast live on social media, the hundred players formed a human chain to create the number 100. Divided into four groups, the young participants from the clubs of Carros, Nice, Mont-Sarthoux, and Cannes Le Cros represent the future for the president.

For the rest of the weekend, matches are scheduled at the sports complex in Cagnes-sur-Mer. This mission, linked to the upcoming Football World Cup, was appreciated by the city’s mayor, who was present for the occasion and congratulated the success of the day.
