For its 9th edition, “C’est pas classique” once again achieved unparalleled success and was acclaimed by more than 65,000 faithful, passionate, and curious attendees. The audience, always numerous and loyal to the event, was able to enjoy the talent of 1,000 artists through 70 free, varied, and quality concerts, making this event, organized by the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, a unique cultural phenomenon in France.

Revamped shows, interactive workshops for both young and old, renowned composers being honored, unique, original, and unconventional performances delighted music lovers and newcomers over three days.

The “Quartet,” the sisters Katia and Marielle Labรจque, Franck Braley, and Richard Galliano are just some of the renowned artists who contributed to the success of “Cโ€™est pas classique” with the public. These artists were once again supported by prestigious orchestras such as the Regional Orchestra of Cannes PACA, conducted by its new Austrian conductor Wolfgang Doerner, the Nice Baroque Ensemble, under the direction of Gilbert Bezzina, and the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, led by maestro Philippe Auguin.

The young audience also enjoyed numerous shows, including a pedagogical day that introduced classical music to more than 2,000 middle school students. The diverse programming particularly focuses on giving prominence to artists from the Azurean region, amidst a host of international artists. This has also allowed for a real connection between the public and the artists, making “C’est pas classique” a grand popular festival.

For Eric Ciotti, Deputy, President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes:
“The festival ‘Cโ€™est pas Classique,’ along with the Summer Evenings and the Tales and Words Festival, constitutes a flagship event on the Azurean agenda, showcasing the strong commitment of the General Council towards culture. By collaborating with numerous partners, primarily the City of Nice, ‘Cโ€™est pas Classique’ once again met with immense success. We have chosen to offer the residents of Alpes-Maritimes and all music lovers high-quality free shows, and they have known how to enjoy and appreciate them.”
