Forge your path: tolerance and understanding towards migrants

Latest News

From July 16 to 27, around ten French and Italian walkers will retrace in reverse the route taken by migrants to come to France from Italy, with several stages. The goal is to inform and raise awareness about their situation. The walk is organized by Marion Blancher, Francesco Di Meglio, and Claire Gager.

No less than 11 stages for 10 days of walking, that’s the “Trace ta route” project. With the help of the association Route de Jérusalem – Ecole de la paix, they aim to meet migrants, associations, and outsiders to create exchange and sharing. They want to explain the current situation and the complexity of the border.

They are departing from Nice to go to San Remo, passing through La Trinité, Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Saint-Agnès, Castellar, Torri, Ventimiglia, Dolceacqua, and Bordighera. It’s a long journey to take the time to reflect and meet others. At each stage, they organize discussions open to everyone. “We want to give a clearer and more positive image of immigration,” explains Marion Blancher. “Too many people have a negative and distorted view of it.”

At the end of their journey, they will leave a trace through photos, writings, and possibly exhibitions. From August 24 to 26, they will have the opportunity to present their project for the first time at the Balla coi Cinghiali festival in Italy.
