” I have never disrespected any woman,” explains Robson Bambu on social media. The central defender is accused of rape by a 25-year-old woman. According to Globo, a Brazilian newspaper, the events allegedly took place on February 3rd in São Paulo. After spending an evening at a nightclub, the victim told the authorities that she returned to the hotel with the football player and some friends. It was upon waking that the former Nice player allegedly attempted to assault her.
The main individual involved has denied all the accusations and spoke on Twitter: “I learned of the accusation against me, and it makes me angry. I have already called my lawyer to handle the case. I have never disrespected any woman. I hope the authorities will clarify the truth as soon as possible so that I can return to doing what I love, which is playing football.”
The Brazilian adventure is off to a bad start for the central defender. More and more cases like this one are being reported in the world of football. The former Nice player, freshly arrived from the south of France, has not yet played a match with his new club. The club does not wish to comment until the case is clarified.
