OGC Nice confirms having reached a preliminary agreement with Hatem Ben Arfa. The French international will undergo a medical examination on Monday, prior to signing with the Gym.
A few points still need to be addressed. The medical examination is yet to be completed. This is always the case during the transfer window. But Hatem Ben Arfa has never been closer to joining OGC Nice. The attacking midfielder is expected to continue his career in the red and black jersey.
The club can indeed confirm that a preliminary agreement has been reached with the French international (13 caps and 2 goals). A little twist of fate: it was at Stade du Ray, against Nice, where he made his Ligue 1 debut in 2004.
Convinced by the words of Claude Puel, whom he met before the holidays, and by the ambitions of the club, Ben Arfa (27 years old) has a great opportunity ahead. His arrival, if finalized at the beginning of next week, would also change the Gym’s offensive dynamics. A pure talent, he has been a bearer of promises in every club he has played for, since his revelation at INF Clairefontaine.
First at Lyon, where he continued his progression by contributing to 4 French championship titles, particularly the last one in 2008, with 30 matches played. Then at Marseille, where he played for two seasons (63 Ligue 1 matches) and achieved the double in 2010. Finally, in England, where his flair won the hearts of Magpies fans, before a loan in recent months to Hull City.
