The leaders of the USNBB are organizing a tournament in memory of Laure Ecard, a player from the NCO, who, more than six years ago, lost her life in a traffic accident on the side of a highway while returning from a sports trip, along with a motorist who stopped to help. Other players were seriously injured. The Nice basketball community and the youth of Nice were deeply affected by this human tragedy.
All local authorities support this initiative with the backing of the FFBB, under the aegis of the Côte d’Azur Basketball League and the Departmental Basketball Committee 06.
Present in NICE on Friday 18, Saturday 19, and Sunday 20 July 2014, at the Leyrit hall, to compete and win the fifth edition of the “Laure ECARD” Challenge will be teams from Russia, winners in 2011 and 2013, Turkey, Italy which will participate for the first time, and France, which won the 2010 edition.
The 4 teams present at the “Laure Ecard” 2014 are qualified for the European championship which will take place in Debrecen, Hungary from July 31 to August 10.
The matches will be played at the Salle Leyrit with free entry.
