He was battling pancreatic cancer, which eventually took his life at the age of 52. The French singer passed away on Thursday, June 18th, at his family home in Nice, surrounded by his wife and three children.

Endowed with a distinctly southern eloquence and a tall stature, Franck Ferrari had a radiant presence and a powerful voice. He was highly appreciated by his stage colleagues for his seriousness in work and his infectious enthusiasm in life.

“I knew he was ill. I cannot reconcile myself to his death. We will no longer see him. But we will always hear him,” said Christian Estrosi. The mayor of the city of Nice, where the deceased originated from, thus expressed his deep sorrow.

The talented baritone honed his skills at the Nice conservatory, where he obtained a first prize in singing and lyrical art, before earning major awards in Marseille, Paris, and Toulouse.
