On Friday, the Nice Tourism Office broadcast the show “Un Dîner Presque Parfait” which was filmed in Nice. For this broadcast, Rudy Salles and Denis Zanon were present along with Franck Viano, the grand winner of the Nice edition.
Surrounded by his loved ones, Franck Viano undoubtedly enjoyed his evening at the Tourism Office. During the broadcast of the last “Un Dîner Presque Parfait” Nice edition, viewers could see Franck Viano in action, giving his all, not only to win the show but also to ensure his guests had a great evening.
A lover of his city Nice, he couldn’t help but prepare a typically Nissart meal. The famous stuffed vegetables, a Niçoise salad millefeuille, the renowned poutine, or a sweet pan bagnat were the highlights of his table. Franck’s hosts apparently enjoyed the meal since he was designated the winner by his “opponents” of the day and the week.
Good vibes at the Tourism Office
Everyone at the Tourism Office was there to admire Franck’s culinary performances. And he made quite an impression. Several people in the room marveled at the dishes Franck had concocted. Unfortunately, we couldn’t taste his dishes, but it was evident that quality was present. However, this setback will soon be remedied, as a tasting is planned in the coming days at Restaurant Lu Fran Calin, which served as the filming location for his portrait with his loyal friend, Chef Daniel Silvetti “Franck is a very good amateur cook, and we share this same passion for Niçoise cuisine. It’s always a pleasure to be at his table or better yet in a kitchen to work together…”
Rudy Salles, deputy of the 3rd constituency and Head of the Tourism Office, came to see his friend’s performance. “It is a great pride that Franck won this show,” he exclaimed. “He is part of the broader family of the city of Nice. What touches me most is that he showcased the colors and flavors of our city.”
A week full of excitement ending in triumph, Franck?
Yes, it was a great week and a wonderful ending. But, regardless of the victory, I’m happy with the image that was presented of Nice and especially of its cuisine. It’s important to remember that it’s the only cuisine in the world named after its city. And being surrounded by my friends is the cherry on an already well-decorated cake…
Both good and bad moments during this week?
I will only remember the good times as there weren’t many really bad ones. It’s not always easy to spend a week with people you don’t know, especially in competition mode, but overall, this experience is quite positive, and I would undoubtedly do it again if given the chance.
A wonderful encounter with Evelyne Leclercq?
A fantastic encounter indeed, but I would rather say a rediscovery because I grew up a bit with her. My grandmother, with whom I used to have lunch, was a fan of “Tournez Manège”, and I discovered a charming, caring, and vibrant woman.
Nice was everywhere in the show, from the plates to the decorations and anecdotes?
It was the least I could do for this wonderful city that has given me everything. I love, no, I adore my city, and it was a perfect opportunity to share it with millions of viewers and internet users. It seems the message came across well, and I must say it makes me very happy…
Any follow-up plans or projects after the show?
Yes, vacations! But I’ve already received some pretty cool offers, like a four-hands dinner in a Niçoise restaurant, a demonstration on a local beach, another TV show on another channel, and above all, I’m collaborating on the project of creating a Niçoise Cooking Academy where not only can you learn all about this wonderful cuisine, but you can also take cooking classes offered by local chefs.
You see, the summer will not only be hot but also very busy… between a few glasses of rosé and a game of pétanque with friends!
