Free transport every weekend for those under 25 in Nice, under these few conditions.

Since July 1st, young people aged between 18 and 25 have the opportunity to obtain the unlimited “Weekend Pass” provided they create a standard Lignes d’Azur transport card.

The creation of this card includes the “Free Weekend Pass”. An additional eight euros will be charged for administrative fees. From then on, the recipient has access to all transport networks every weekend. “It’s a great idea. Every Saturday night, my friends and I are extremely drunk. It’s safer to travel by tram,” Bastien, a young resident of Nice, told us.

Behind this initiative are significant stakes.

More than just a campaign promise, the aim of free urban transport for young people is to serve as a measure to reduce traffic accidents. It is also a way to relieve road congestion, boost youth autonomy, and encourage their involvement. “I am proud to see this commitment, made during my campaign to strengthen the purchasing power of our young people, particularly affected by the health crisis we are going through, being implemented this Saturday,” Christian Estrosi wrote on his official Facebook page. Visit any Lignes d’Azur agency to create your card.
