This weekend, around fifty athletes will be present in the Villefranche-sur-Mer bay to participate in the Nice Abysse Contest (NAC). Competitors from all over the world will dive into the depths to push their limits and attempt to break records.
They will compete in three different disciplines: constant weight without fins, constant weight, and free immersion. Three rigorous disciplines that require a lot of training.
Among the athletes present is Guillaume Néry, world champion in constant weight freediving, who has come not for the competition but for the sheer pleasure of diving into the depths.
Guillaume Néry stopped competing 3 years ago, but he will still be in Villefranche-sur-Mer this weekend for a “tribute” dive. After an impressive track record, he savors every moment spent in the marine depths.
