3 days of competition, 6 young athletes from the Alpes-Maritimes, and 12 podiums!

After the Northern and Southern semi-finals in Arques and Seyssinet, the best gymnasts from across France gathered in Clermont-Ferrand for the major event of their season: the French Championships. The best French hopefuls also competed in the French Open International, which welcomed participants from countries including Germany, England, and Russia.

The Alpes-Maritimes were proudly represented by 6 athletes (5 from the Club de la Garde de Menton and 1 from the Biot Athletic Club). These 6 athletes, who train at the Pôle France in Aix-les-Bains, showcased their talent and earned a shower of medals both at the French Championships and internationally:

French Championships: 3 gold medals, 2 silver, and 2 bronze

Women’s Solo Espoir: Marine VANDROUX: silver medal
Sophia BRESCA: bronze medal

Women’s Solo Junior: Laurena GUINIPERO: bronze medal

Espoir Trio: Aude MENDES, Justine BOULLIER, and Marine VANDROUX: gold medal

Junior Trio: Laurena GUINIPERO: silver medal

Espoir Group: Aude MENDES, Justine BOULLIER, Marine VANDROUX, and Sophia BRESCA: gold medal

Junior Group: Laurena GUINIPERO and Marion ROGER: gold medal

These athletes will participate in the World Gymnastics Championships in 2012.
