During the presentation of the “French Merveilles” operation, Christian Estrosi, the president of the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur Region, outlined all the aspects of this new project to various tourism stakeholders.

Each year, the PACA region welcomes more than 30 million visitors and is considered the second most tourist-friendly region in France.
To revitalize this sector and thereby preserve this industry, tourism industry stakeholders have placed tourism at the core of the region’s strategic and economic leadership. This new worldwide initiative aims to promote the tourism sector in the PACA region.
According to Christian Estrosi, this global tourism promotion campaign aims to highlight the numerous tourist and economic marvels of the Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region to tourists. The main targets of this operation are China, Canada, the United States, Russia, Italy, Japan, Australia, Germany, and Great Britain, which account for 60% of the region’s tourists.

Tourism in PACA has been declining since the July 14th attacks in Nice. Therefore, this campaign aims to revive the tourism sector in the PACA region. Supported by TripAdvisor, a travel review platform that will promote PACA on a dedicated site, and the Publicis group, it seeks to enhance the region’s attractiveness. The representative of the Publicis group, Jรฉrรดme Doncieux, expressed his happiness that the concept named “French Merveilles” is appreciated by everyone.
The PACA region, with its diverse and rich facilities, meets the expectations of foreign tourists: 40 amusement parks, 68 winter sports resorts, 2,200 registered or protected historical monuments, 27,000 archaeological sites, 250 festivals including the internationally renowned Cannes Festival, and also 300 days of sunshine per year.
