The initiative is called Event’Asia. It aims to enable businesses from Southeast France to establish economic ties with the Chinese market. It begins with a market study, followed by making contacts and potentially more if affinities exist… The goal for Aurélia and Marie-Angélique is to organize a trade fair that groups their partner enterprises from the venture and their accumulated contacts in China. They will receive assistance from students learning French in China who are following the same curriculum as them. The reward for these students: a year of study offered at the IAE.
Between eagerness and stress, the young students are busy finalizing the last details of their trip, especially their itinerary in China. The plane tickets are booked, and the schedule for the first few weeks is developed. They are just waiting for their visas like a precious sesame.
However, not everything was so simple. This project is in its third edition. The first year, the two brothers, creators of Event’Asia, flew to China. Last year, there were few applications. In 2007, on the other hand, 7 students were in the running. Aurélia and Marie Angélique defended their project. In December, it was validated. Since then, it’s been a race against time. They are trying to convince companies to partner with them. They reassure them about the current tensions. They are also looking for institutional partners. In summary, they are learning their future profession as project managers.
June 3 will be the big departure. Marie Angélique is dealing with her last administrative issues. Aurélia, on the other hand, is ready. Both of them have only one desire: to be on the plane headed to Beijing.
