Gaël Nofri had joined Marine Le Pen for the 2012 presidential elections. Without ever joining the National Front or the Rassemblement Bleu Marine, he was entrusted on this occasion, notably with the responsibility of gathering patriots and sovereigntists.
After the 2014 municipal elections, where he served as the campaign director for Marie-Christine Arnautu, he initiated the separation of nearly all the FN elected officials from their list leader, and following his integration into both the Municipal Council and the Metropolitan Council, they created the Group of Independent Elected Officials.
His choice today is motivated, as he himself says, by “the realization of the political, electoral, and ideological deadlock in which the FN President has trapped herself. The failure to open up to patriots, sovereigntists, nationals, and republicans and the de facto alliance with the identitarian movement reflect a real project fundamentally opposed to the stated intentions.”
