He emerged onto the political scene as a young wolf during Jacques Peyrat’s last term. Now, he is Marine Le Pen’s spearhead in Nice and the Côte d’Azur region. Gaël Nofri is a fervent opponent of the Deputy Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, and it’s not his latest contribution that we publish below that will say otherwise. The Nice municipal elections are already well underway, and it’s easy to guess who will carry the navy blue colors at the starting line…
Christian Estrosi pretended he had always been opposed to the Mosque project in the Plaine du Var; yet, until Nice-Matin brought the subject into the public eye and the opinion seized it, he never found anything wrong with this file, quite the contrary it seems.
Christian Estrosi pretended he supported the repatriates from Algeria, even concluding his speech with a resounding “Long live French Algeria!”; but, at the same time, he explains that he cannot conceive being a member of a party co-directed by Michèle Tabarot because her father was a defender of French Algeria.
Christian Estrosi pretended it was a lesser evil to have a Nice stadium with a German name, explaining that we could also have been imposed an Arabic name; except he forgets to mention that it was during his time in the Government that our country adapted its legislation to open up to Islamic finance…
So, of course, we could pretend we hadn’t noticed that Christian Estrosi, co-responsible for ten years of governmental policy failure and orchestrator of local poor choices, was trying to restore his image by aligning himself with our discourse.
Yet, we believe it is our duty to remind him of this old saying: the animal that imitates the lion is not a lion, it’s a monkey.
Enough with the monkeying, Mr. Mayor! Clear choices, sincere actions!
