Gare Thiers, the new future of Nice?

Latest News

One can already imagine the future comments from traditionalists who will wonder what this futuristic, vaguely space-like architecture is doing here, between a train station and rather old buildings in a neighborhood that needs to be renovated?

This project by a private real estate group bears the signature of one of the stars of contemporary architecture, the American Daniel Libeskind, who is known for the magnificent Jewish Museum in Berlin.

While he is called American, it would be more accurate to say New Yorker, as his works often reflect a taste, or rather a culture, based on challenges, thinking big to go beyond pre-established limits.

There is no doubt that this work will transform the neighborhood, giving it a new centrality: hotel, performance hall, shops, offices…

The complex will give a new face to a train station that will become a real living space.

The total investment is approximately 80 million euros, and the nearly 20,000 square meters should be marketed at around 5,000 euros per square meter.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 2019.
