This Monday in the late afternoon, a demonstration took place for Geneviève Legay, “yellow vests” described as “pacifists” who came to protest last Saturday in Nice.
The fifty-year-old woman, seriously injured in the head during a police charge, is currently in intensive care at the hospital. The gathering was held at Garibaldi in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, bringing together nearly 200 people, including protesters from left-wing movements (she is an activist of Attac), friends, family, colleagues of Geneviève, and “yellow vests”.
The demonstrators displayed signs with peaceful inscriptions and others less peaceful such as “Stop police violence” or “Castanerdogan”.
Notable was the presence of “CGT 06” unions and the “Médics attac” collective. Several leaders spoke, and the crowd chanted slogans. A collection was even set up at the site of the demonstration to help cover Geneviève’s legal costs.
