One Single Exam for 26 Post-Bac Engineering Schools:
– Register for the exam between January 20 and March 20, 2012
Many final year S students (science-focused) interested in engineering studies do not wish to go through two years of preparatory classes. The Geipi Polytech Exam allows final year S students and 2011 S graduates to directly enter a major public engineering school at the next university start.
To do so, they must register for the Geipi Polytech Exam between January 20 and March 20, 2012 on the Post-Bac Internet portal: www.admission‐postbac.fr. To increase their chances of admission, they should rank multiple Geipi Polytech schools in their list of preferences among the proposed engineering programs (the Geipi Polytech Exam with its various offered possibilities represents only one choice among the 12 possible engineering program choices on the Post-Bac Portal).
– Nearly 10,000 Candidates
With 9,700 candidates in 2011, the Geipi Polytech has become the most attractive entrance exam for engineering schools in France. It grants access to 26 major engineering schools distributed across the national territory.
These 26 public schools offer 2,300 places in 2012 and provide a 5-year program that awards a diploma recognized by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs.
The tuition fees for these schools generally correspond to university tuition rates, with full exemption or reduced rates for scholarship students.
The 26 schools accessible via the Exam offer a wide range of engineering specialties: agri-food, automotive, aeronautics, materials, environment, mechanics, civil engineering, computer science, biology, energy, telecommunications, electronics, etc.
– High-Quality Candidates
The organization of the exam aims to select motivated and high-level candidates. Those with a strong academic record are invited to a motivation interview. All others take a 3-hour written test (math & physics-chemistry). It should be noted that the proportion of scholarship students among those admitted is similar to the proportion of scholarship students among the candidates: thus, the exam is socially equitable.
– Everything to Easily Get Information
For Bertrand BONTE, President of Geipi Polytech: “After the merger of the GEIPI and POLYTECH exams three years ago, the common exam has established itself as the number of candidates has increased by more than 30%. To solidify this success and ensure its longevity, we have just created a unique graphic identity. Our new logo, which combines geometric shapes, curves, and shades, expresses the flexibility and accessibility of the exam, and its colors refer to creativity and sustainable development.”
