General Assembly of CDOS06: Sports in the French Riviera are doing well

The General Assembly of CDOS 06 brought together over 100 leaders, athletes, and sportspeople for its General Assembly, which, after two years of health crisis, was finally held in person.

The presence of the President of the Department 06, Charles Ange Ginesy, alongside many elected officials, including the Vice-President in charge of sports, Carine Papy, deputies Laurence Trastour-Isnart and Cedric Roussel, and the sports deputy of Nice, Jean-Marc Giaume, uplifted the spirits of the CDOS 06 officials around President Philippe Manassero to continue energizing the Azurean sports movement.

“Each year, the Department supports more than 600 sports committees and associations, including the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee. Despite the complex health and budgetary context, we have chosen to continue our ambitious sports policy!” declared Charles-Ange Ginésy during his speech.

CDOS 06 honored the Olympic and Paralympic medalists from the Alpes-Maritimes region after the Tokyo and Beijing Games.

Alongside Vice President and 2012 London Olympic medalist, Émilie Fer, President Philippe Manassero also aimed to honor an Azurean referee who officiated an Olympic final in water polo, Sébastien Dervieux.

Fanny Horta, silver medalist and captain of the French Rugby Sevens team (St Laurent du Var), Florent Marais, Paralympic bronze medalist in para-swimming (Antibes), Céline Bousrez, Paralympic bronze medalist, guide of Annouk Curzillat, in para-triathlon (Pegomas), and Sébastien Dervieux, referee of the USA-Spain women’s water polo Olympic final (Beausoleil), received the CDOS 06 Olympic Recognition Trophy.
