On the occasion of a press conference held at the Cimiez Hospital in Nice, Geneviève Legay spoke alongside her lawyers and union representatives.
The fight continues
For the first time since the incident on March 23. The 60-year-old Nice resident and pacifist protester addressed the press. She provided an update on the current state of her health and announced that the fight continues for her. “The Yellow Vests movement that I participate in is a magnificent movement that has been able to bring the people’s demands to light. We are not giving up the streets, we are not giving up the roundabouts, we remain determined again and again until we win. The call would be for all of us to come together in the convergence of struggles,” declared Geneviève Legay in an emotional but determined tone.
According to her, Emmanuel Macron “has been despising us for 2 years and is sinking into dictatorship.” A relationship that has continued to deteriorate since the first act of the Yellow Vests. She responds to the President that “wisdom is to resist by defending social justice.”
A new complaint
Geneviève Legay’s lawyers speak of a conflict of interest in the investigation because “the lead investigator is the wife of the commissioner, Rabah Souchi, in charge of operations on the day of the protests.” They added that a new complaint has been filed by Geneviève for witness tampering. The lawyers emphasized that “Nice must be considered with the same rules and the same laws as elsewhere in France.”
