Global Shaper, an initiative of the World Economic Forum

Global Shaper is an international movement. There are 431 hubs spread across the world, including four in France: in Lyon, Marseille, Paris, and Nice. The Nice hub is โ€œa multicultural and ambitious group of young people committed to projects that have a positive impact on the Cรดte dโ€™Azur,โ€ explains Maha AL-SALEHI, a member of Global Shapers Nice. It is also a means for young people to take on responsibilities and belong to a community. In Nice, the members of Global Shapers work on three particularly important causes:

  • climate and environment
  • employment and education
  • equity and inclusion

Numerous actions undertaken

Therefore, many projects and actions have been undertaken since the creation of the Nice Shapers group in 2014. Currently, the “NOwasteNOvember Challenge” project, an awareness campaign against plastic waste, is underway. The Nice Shapers community is also working, in partnership, with several associations. For example, this Saturday, September 19th, the โ€œWorld Clean Up Dayโ€ is taking place: an initiative for collecting and cleaning up beaches organized by NicePlogging, Everyday.earth, in partnership with Global Shapers. Many other projects are ongoing, particularly concerning equity and inclusion, as well as employment and education with ShapersTalks, โ€œan opportunity to meet and discuss a variety of topics: from entrepreneurship to the environment, from social issues to sustainability,โ€ explains the group.
