This Friday, February 22, at 11:30 am at the main town hall, Cheikh Koundoul will be honored for the creation of his company “Zenetudes” as part of the “Talents des Cités” competition. At 27 years old, holding a master’s degree in material physics and numerical modeling from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, the young man from Nice has been recognized for establishing his own home tutoring company, “Zenetudes”, in Nice.
Drawing from his experience as a tutor in school support, homework help, and preparation for competitions and exams, Cheikh Koundoul created “Zenetudes” in 2010. Today, there are six tutors who travel around Nice and its surroundings to provide lessons from primary school to postgraduate level.
The young company leader has also developed innovative educational tools for quality personalized monitoring of young students. Among these innovations:
– A website available to students, accessible to parents, which offers courses, exercises, online assistance, and a communication notebook.
– The “Zepexcellence” program which trains good students from neighborhoods in teaching methods so that they, in turn, can give tutoring lessons in their community.
Cheikh, who has long offered free classes to young people from the neighborhoods, established his company in the Centre Ville Port district. He received over 9 months of support from ACEC (Association Conseils Entreprises et Commerces) in Nice.
“The Talents des Cités award is a recognition of the work done by ZENETUDES. It rewards both effective and innovative pedagogy and an entrepreneurial project. As a winner of the competition, I want to demonstrate that everyone can benefit from quality tutoring and that young people from the neighborhoods also have the right to excellence.”
