Before leaving for vacation, President Sรฉbastien Filippini, the emblematic president of A.N.I.C.E.S, who advocates for the participation of visually impaired individuals in sports activities, wanted to take stock of the situation.
In fact, A.N.I.C.E.S has had excellent results on both national and international levels and has been present at numerous events in the department (such as a torball demonstration at the Grasse prison, at the Vernier middle school’s leisure center, the one in Levens, as well as at the Clรฉment Ader center).
So, Mr. President…
“First of all, Nathalie Cuny and her guide Julien Jean took home the gold by becoming French Champions in the 5,000 meters.”
To continue: “Torball was very prominent… Our girls made enormous progress by finishing 5th in Marseille, our men’s reserve team, which competes in the 4th division, brought home the bronze by finishing in 3rd place in Toulouse. As for our first team, which competes in D2, they secured their place during the last match in Mulhouse.
Finally, the Nice torball team shone in Austria at the Salzburg International Tournament. At the end of the tournament, the team took 2nd place and won silver on the European stage!
To continue, Pierre Naressi participated in his first French Handisport Championships in Paracycling.
The tandem bike was well represented during the city of Nice’s bike festival and in the “time trial” on the Tour de France professional course. Let’s not forget our outing to Roquebilliรจre for a cultural day (photo-braille), and our meal at the port of Frรฉjus at the restaurant La Pizz to conclude a very eventful 2012/2013 season for A.N.I.C.E.S!”
A final word: “A summer under the sign of sunshine, family, and rest for all our volunteers and athletes! Come back in great shape to start the new season!”
