The number of job seekers decreased by 0.8% in the fourth quarter of 2018 across all categories. While this is a small decline, this change affects almost all categories and age groups.
If we consider only Category A, which includes people without a job who are required to look for one, their number fell by 1.1% over the last three months of 2018, according to Pôle emploi figures. This represents 38,200 fewer people compared to the end of September 2018, resulting in a total of 3,676,500 (excluding Mayotte).
On an annual basis, the number even decreases by 1.5%.
