This afternoon, the Galeries Lafayette at Cap 3000 will welcome 40 little chefs who will attend two cooking workshops during which Franck Viano, winner of the show “Un dîner presque parfait,” will teach them how to prepare “Lo Pan Frucha.”
This event, sponsored by the association “Tous avec Hugo,” will end with Galeries Lafayette Cap 3000 donating a cheque for 500 € to the Nice-based association, which will, as always, put it to good use to benefit the pediatric hemato-oncology department at CHU NICE L’ARCHET 2.
This isn’t the first time Franck Viano, heavily involved in the world of Nissarde Cuisine, has engaged in cooking workshops for the association: “We met during the grand event ‘Tous avec Hugo’ on the Promenade des Anglais and the adventure has continued since, with the greatest gift being the good health of little Hugo. But other children still need help, and that’s why, whenever possible, I don’t hesitate to participate.”
Two workshops that have been fully booked since yesterday and which clearly show the French enthusiasm for cooking: “It’s true that cooking is booming, and that’s why we must take advantage of associating it with charitable works. Making people happy while making myself happy is kind of my motto,” explains Franck.
A date has been set for the first class, which will start at 2 PM, in front of what will surely be a large audience eager to see these 20 little ones prepare with enthusiasm what will serve as their snack at the end of the workshop. “What I want to show in these workshops is, firstly, that cooking can also be a game that allows you to approach certain foods in a more playful way, and secondly, that fruits should be consumed regularly. And, of course, to make a connection with Niçoise cuisine, which plays a major role in these workshops. This is in response to the ‘rougna’ and the ‘ayatollahs of Niçoise cuisine’ who have criticized this recipe endlessly, without even knowing what its purpose was and what its finality was!”
And there you have it!
