The “Atelier Cuisine Niçoise”, which has just been inaugurated, aims to be a place of transmission and learning. It will offer Niçoise cooking classes, culinary competitions, exhibitions, and product presentations.
Located right in the heart of the old town within the former Senate, the Atelier Cuisine Niçoise, whose project was launched last May, will have a classroom equipped with multiple workstations and all the necessary equipment for the many recipes crafted throughout the seasons. Depending on the format, participants can learn the emblematic recipes of Niçoise cuisine before tasting them on site or taking their creations to enjoy with their loved ones.
This project comes at a time when the Committee of Ethnological and Intangible Heritage of the Ministry of Culture has just officially added the culinary practices of the Niçoise region to the inventory of France’s National Heritage. It extends the municipal policy of promoting Niçoise heritage and fits perfectly with the criteria of the “City of Art and History” Label, which the City of Nice has recently obtained.
