The report from the Regional Audit Chamber regarding the Grand Stadium has undoubtedly somewhat tarnished the proactive and successful image of Christian Estrosi.
Beyond the follow-ups of the file between recommendations and questions, doubts have surfaced regarding the formal and substantial correctness of the operation.
It was necessary to counter the situation with an offensive in communication.
A website was created and it must be said with impressive efficiency: it is simple, direct, and educational.
However, the operation, which is also somewhat propagandistic, did not escape the vigilant eyes of Gaël Nofri, the municipal council’s troublemaker, who has contacted the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes.
Is the initiative of the City of Nice in line with the duty to inform?
No, according to Gaël Nofri:
“Following the launch of a website by the City of Nice https://9verites.nice.fr claiming to present the key elements of the Grand Stadium file in a misleading, abusive manner likely to mislead the people of Nice, I decided to inform the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes.
Indeed, this electoral tool has no other ambition than to defend and justify the missteps of the current municipality while denying the official report issued by magistrates. As such, it cannot be considered a communication need of the City of Nice and therefore cannot be funded by it.
It is time that the Mayor of Nice finally understands that his office is meant to serve the people of Nice, not to direct his electoral campaigns, that the communication department of the City of Nice is to promote the City of Nice, not his political career, and that the municipal staff serves our community and does not constitute his lordly clientele.
As a staunch republican, I cannot accept that our city and metropolitan area transform into a local barony.”
