Green Code 2012: Sustainable Mobility on a Large Scale

Latest News

Friday marked a first for Green Code 2012, a forum on sustainable mobility that took place at ADEME (Environment and Energy Management Agency) in Sophia-Antipolis.

greencode2012.jpgAs part of the European Sustainable Mobility Week, the Green Code 2012 forum was born. An event that aims to grow and support companies and communities in adapting their behavior to embrace what is rightly called: โ€œsustainable mobility.โ€ Amandine Badel, communication project manager of the Green Code Event association, tells us more about the ambitions of such a meeting.

Nice Premium: What does the Green Code 2012 forum represent concretely?

Amandine Badel: It is an opportunity for us to bring together all the actors of sustainable mobility. Today we have business leaders, sustainability and logistics managers, representatives from the General Council and also the Regional Council. The forum primarily aims to inform, raise awareness, and educate.

N P: Where do Green Code’s ambitions come from?

Amandine Badel: Green Code Event is an association promoting sustainable economic development focused on people, dedicated to designing eco-responsible events. We understand the economic constraints of organizations. That is why we strive, through our communication operations, to offer applicable solutions that are adapted to everyone’s capabilities in terms of corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, and eco-citizenship.

N P: What is sustainable mobility really about?

Amandine Badel: It is a concept that materializes into actions aimed at rationalizing our movements for economic, social, and environmental purposes.

N P: What concrete solutions do you propose today?

Amandine Badel: There are no particular solutions, but rather pathways! We are neither prescribers nor salespeople. Our goal is not to promote one means over another (electric cars, bicycles, trains, carpooling, telecommuting, co-working, etc.). We want to inspire this desire for change. We’ve implemented round tables that allow everyone to better understand, ask questions, and find real answers. Alongside this, the “networking lunch” we offer is also a great way to facilitate interactions between participants and experts. We’ve tried to entertain with a playful aspect, like with the eco-driving simulator.

N P: What’s the outcome?

Amandine Badel: Our goal is to unite people around the values we uphold. I am satisfied when I see all these people exchanging ideas and if, in addition, the event has enabled them to consider evolving their practices or policies in terms of sustainable mobility, then we have accomplished our mission.
