Yannick Jadot won the ecological primary on Monday, November 7, by defeating Michรจle Rivasi with 54.25% of the votes.
Little known, the 49-year-old European Parliament member, who came to politics through associative activism, wants to embody the “renewal of political ecology.”
A member of the European Parliament since 2009, Yannick Jadot is, like his friend Daniel Cohn-Bendit, a convinced Europhile, persuaded that on both the economy and climate, “we can achieve nothing alone.”
But he does not want this “ultraliberal” Europe, “this small technocratic and austerity-driven globalization.”
