For the third day of the LFH championship, the Nice team played against their Azurian rivals on Sunday, September 13, with the continued absence of Clรฉopรขtre Darleux.
OGC Nice already had a solid victory against Dijon. In contrast, their opponents from Toulon had to settle for a defeat and a draw at the start of the championship.
Once the match began, the Var team left little room for doubt. They dominated throughout the game, never allowing the Nice team to take the lead.
As the minutes went by, the score barely moved. Turnovers kept happening, goalkeepers shone with a 36% save rate on each side of the field, and a halftime score of 9-13 favored Toulon.
The start of the second half was difficult. A moment of uncertainty on the Nice side was seized upon by Toulon, who extended their lead. A score of 13-19 in the 45th minute left little hope concerning the outcome of the match. The Var defensive aggressiveness only resulted in 7 penalties awarded to OGC Nice.
The Nice team rallied toward the end of the match but couldn’t catch up. The game ended with a score of 22-26.
The next match will be on September 18 at 8:00 PM against Issy Paris Hand, currently 5th in the standings.
