Handball (LBE): the Nice vs. Chambray match is postponed

Latest News

Following confirmed Covid cases within the OGCN Côte d’Azur Handball team, the match between Nice and Chambray that was supposed to take place this Sunday has been postponed.

Yet another major setback in this season severely impacted by the health crisis related to Covid-19. After several positive cases appeared within the Gym squad, the delayed match of the 6th championship day at home against Chambray did not take place as planned this Sunday at 4 PM. Consequently, it has been postponed to a later date, which is still unknown at the moment. The only certainty is that the match will be held next year, after the international break and the Women’s Euro 2020 in Denmark (December 3 to 20).

The OGC Nice Handball Côte-d’Azur, which, let’s recall, is 12th in the Ligue Butagaz Energie standings. Without the possibility to play this weekend, Marjan Kolev and his players end their 2020 with yet another match postponement. For the next round, they will travel to Centre-Val de Loire to face the Fleury Loiret Handball team (5th), the first match of the year 2021 for the players from Nice (January 6).

A long waiting period during which the staff members will have to take the necessary measures and precautions to best prepare the squad for the resumption of the season.
