Handball: No Feat for OGC Nice (33-28)

Latest News

Condemned to achieve the impossible, the players of the Gym fought hard but failed to turn the tide. Nevertheless, they finished as runners-up in the French championship, which remains a very nice consolation.

Marjan Kolev’s team, which needed to overcome a twelve-goal deficit to be crowned champions, were defeated once again (33-28) by the now four-time reigning French champions.

Trailing by two goals at halftime (15-13), Martina Skolkova’s teammates (5 goals) could retain a faint hope, not of winning the title, but at least of winning the match. However, the Messines showed no mercy and claimed a logical victory.

As a reminder, after such a result, OGC Nice will compete in a European Cup (the EHF Cup) for the first time in its history next season.
