Antoine Djro gives us an update on the season for Cavigal Handball of Nice and the club’s ambitions for the next season.
In a few words, what can you say about your season? Are you satisfied?
โThis season was special, we ended up with a commendable 7th place, rather unexpected for us since we were fighting to stay up at the start of the season. We must not forget that we have one of the smallest budgets in the Proligue.โ
What are the team’s values?
โSince we have the smallest budget, we have to go above and beyond, relying on the strength of our collective team. Our young players strive to improve. Solidarity and selflessness are our values. Especially during tough times due to injuries, we managed to bounce back.โ
Do you believe you have players who can reach the highest level one day?
โIf our young players continue to progress in this manner, we certainly hope they can one day reach the ‘elite’. Honestly, yes, it is possible!โ
What are your goals for the next season?
โTo maintain the same momentum from the end of this season with a good pace. Initially, we’d like to secure our position.โ
The transfer window is open, where do you stand?
โWe already have a few departures but also three new players, including a left back and a center-half. It’s a transfer window that is in line with our ongoing progression and will allow us to continue advancing and evolving.โ
For your information, Cavigal Handball will resume at the end of July. We wish them good luck for the upcoming season. You can find them on Instagram or their website.
