JDA Dijon triumphed on the Nice field (20-26) this Wednesday evening at the Halle des sports. The Aiglonnes were unable to secure a ticket to the semi-finals of this French Cup, despite all the efforts made.

The Burgundians took a long time to get into the match, with only one goal scored in fifteen minutes. It must be said, the Serbian international Marija Colic, fresh from the World Championship, gave the Dijonnaises a hard time. At the end of the match, the Aiglonnes were disappointed but kept their heads high after this fine run. Marija Colic, the goalkeeper who carried her team to the end, provides a fine analysis of the match. “Honestly, I think the defense wasn’t bad. If we missed something tonight, it was the attack. In this type of match, there’s one thing you have to do, and that’s shoot, and we didn’t manage to create the right opportunities at the right time. In any case, we prepared as best as we could!”
This viewpoint is also shared by coach Clement Alcacer, who emphasizes the physical aspect. “We lacked a bit of success in shooting. I find that we change the way we play when we start missing from six meters out. Physically, we struggle too. The opponents have more rotation than us, so we had a hard time maintaining the same intensity as in the first half. Tonight, we lacked breath and a bit of luck, but there are improvements, and we should build on that.”
On February 7, the Niçoises will have the opportunity to show a new face in Paris, against the 4th in the standings, Paris 92.
