Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 8:30 PM at the Gymnase des Eucalyptus, the women’s teams of OGC Nice Handball and La Motte Servolex will face each other for the 26th day of the French Pro D2 championship.


In the presence of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, Gilles Veissière, Deputy for Sports of the city of Nice, Claude Israël, President of OGC Nice Côte d’Azur Handball, and many other personalities from the Nice sports world (Stéphane and Odile Diagana, Camille Muffat, Fabien Barel, …).

Christian Estrosi and Eric Ciotti will kick off the last match of the 2011/2012 season, an exceptional season for the OGC Nice team which is ascending to the elite for 2012/2013!

The Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, will present the trophy to the players of the French champion team, before paying a special tribute to Valérie Nicolas, who is celebrating her jubilee tomorrow.

The goalkeeper of OGC Nice Côte d’Azur HB is indeed ending her professional handball career. First selected for the French team in 1995, twice named the world’s best player and goalkeeper, she has had brilliant results in world championships with the team…

With 245 selections to her name, Valérie Nicolas can leave the sports field with great pride!
