On Monday, July 30 and Tuesday, July 31, 2012, the Bijou handicapped-accessible beach in Cannes will host the Handi Voile 06 Tour.
This program is also offered to Seniors. Antibes: August 3 and 4, 2012, Ponteil handicapped-accessible beach
For the seventh consecutive year, the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, in partnership with the Departmental Sailing Committee and the host municipality, is organizing the Handi Voile 06 Tour and offering free activities accessible to people with disabilities — of all types — and seniors at various accessible beach sites.
A summer event favorable for escape, discovery, and sharing
Four one-hour sea outings are offered per day aboard trimarans from the Departmental Sailing Committee 06, the collective boat Echo 90 from Cannes Jeunesse, and canoes-kayaks with or without an instructor on board, which can accommodate about twenty people for sailing and four to six for canoe-kayaking per outing. Departures are scheduled at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:30 pm, and 3:00 pm by reservation.
During these two days, the Health Info Bus will be present to inform people about sun-related risk prevention.
A commitment to Sustainable Development
To enhance participants’ awareness of this theme, a Charter “The Sea,… My Nature” was created to highlight the values of nautical activities while respecting the environment. Displayed on a large tarp, everyone can commit to these values and become a messenger of the Charter by signing it.
An intergenerational link
Let us recall that last summer, nearly 500 people benefited from more than 900 sea outings conducted on various boats, adapted trimarans, collective boats, and canoe-kayaks.
