Concerned with raising awareness among able-bodied children from a young age, in collaboration with the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport, the Nice Academy, and Usep 06, schools have organized activities promoting “Handisport’IAE.” This project is organized by four students from the 2015/2016 cohort of the Sports Management program at the I.A.E of Nice.
This initiative aims to raise awareness among young schoolchildren from Nice (Grade 5) about “Disability Sport” through meetings based on dialogue, exchange, and the practice of sports disciplines.
Started yesterday at the Jean-Marie Hyvert school with the collaboration of OGC Nice Escrime, the meetings will continue on Thursday, November 17, at the Ronchรจse school โ Handi-Leisure (Climbing), Monday, November 21, at the Jules Ferry school (fencing), Thursday, December 15, at the Jean Macรฉ 2 school (Association Valentin Hauy), and Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Rothschild 1 school (Torball Anices), ending on January 20, 2017, at the Chรขteau school (Association Valentin Hauy).
During these meetings, both worlds (schoolchildren and sports associations) will be able to interact together to achieve that lasting relationship often found between a coach and their players.
This sports festival will address specific topics, such as citizenship and the sports practice of people with disabilities.
