Handisailing is based on three operations:
– Sailing practice sessions throughout the year,
– The summer tour in various municipalities of the department with a handibeach,
– The Handisailing Trophy 06, a two-day mini-cruise on a habitable boat.
The Summer 2008 Handisailing Tour, organized in partnership with the Azur Departmental Sailing Committee, the Departmental Canoe-Kayak Committee, the Cannes Youth and Aventure Pluriel associations, as well as the Cap d’Ail Nautical Club for the stop on August 1st and 2nd, is open free of charge to all disabled people who are members of a specialized organization. Reservations can be made through the Azur Departmental Sailing Committee: 06.18.75.28.83.
Each day, specially equipped boats will make several rotations of about one hour each with professional instructors.
Throughout the Handisailing Tour, the Health Information Bus from the General Council will be present to provide advice on nutrition and sun protection, and the Maritime Heritage Preservation Association of Villefranche-sur-Mer will offer a workshop on nautical knots and an exhibition on Mediterranean maritime heritage.

– Wednesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 7, port of Cros in Cagnes-sur-Mer,
– Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, handibeach Esplanade des Goélands in Saint-Laurent-du-Var,
– Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14, handibeach Bijou in Cannes,
– Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16, handibeach of La Rague in Mandelieu-La Napoule,
– Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23, handibeach of Ponteil in Antibes.
The Handisailing Tour will also stop at the Centenary handibeach in Nice. The date will be communicated later.
For its first edition in 2006, the Handisailing Tour completed 324 outings at sea, hosting 224 participants in 5 municipalities of the department. In 2007, the Handisailing Tour confirmed its success with 528 outings at sea, hosting 294 participants for sailing and 103 participants for kayaking on the handibeaches of 6 municipalities in the department.
