The transfer of power at the head of the Young Economic Chamber of Nice, between Laura Ruiz and Sabrina Chibane, took place this Tuesday evening at the Le Saint-Paul hotel (formerly the seminar house).
Around one hundred members were present yesterday in the conference room of the Saint-Paul hotel to congratulate Laura Ruiz, the outgoing president, Sabrina Chibane who will assume this role during the year 2017, and a dozen new members, all dressed in red and black, inducted on this occasion.
Laura Ruiz revisited in her speech the eventful year of 2016, recalling that “there will be a before and an after 2016.” Despite the disaster that struck the city of Nice this summer, she was very satisfied with the work accomplished this year and with the quality and commitment of her various collaborators towards the main goal of the project, which was to reposition the JCI at the heart of economic and influence networks. Several missions were carried out such as Niss’art et vous, a system of artwork rental to promote local artists, and Consommer local, to support local farmers.
After a very theatrical and symbolic transfer of power, via a ring and a hand-raised oath, Sabrina Chibane presented her program for 2017.
Most of the missions from 2016 will be renewed and deepened this year, notably Consommer local, Business and Sport, Niss’art et vous. Added to these, this year, is assistance for young graduates, mainly master’s degree holders, to find their career path. There is also a mission to support leaders in recruitment. And a politically aimed mission, the RES politica, to engage in discussions ahead of the 2017 presidential elections.
Finally, a mission that is particularly close to Sabrina Chibane’s heart is assisting young people from priority neighborhoods. The project will be completed “if we have time,” she admitted, for the simple reason that “the 2017 program was planned before I was contacted to take on this mission.”
