Plan coeur, Season 3 – January 1st
The third and final season of the French rom-com arrives on the platform at the start of the year. This season, expect tense relationships between the three best friends, with one dating the ex of another and the third struggling to get pregnant, straining her romantic relationship…
After Life, Season 3 – January 14th
In this third and final season of the satirical series, we find Tony (Ricky Gervais) who, even though he’s not as angry at life anymore, continues to fight to fill the void left by his wife’s death. To recap, Season 2 ended with Tony on the brink of attempting suicide before nurse Emma knocked on his door to offer him new hope for the future.
The Movies
A Star is Born – January 1st
To start the new year with glory (and decline), Netflix is releasing A Star is Born, the film that caused a sensation upon its 2018 release and received numerous awards, including the Oscar for Best Original Song awarded to Lady Gaga.
This musical drama features Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a somewhat fading country star, who discovers Ally (Lady Gaga), a young singer with a promising future. As they both fall in love with each other, Jackson propels Ally into the spotlight. Jackson will then be overshadowed by the success of the young singer and increasingly struggle with his decline.
Munich: The Edge of War – January 21st
In the fall of 1938, with the threat of a second world war looming over Europe, a German diplomat and a British civil servant (George MacKay) travel to Munich on an espionage mission to prevent this war. The film is inspired by the novel by Robert Harris.
The Documentaries
The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman – January 18th
In this documentary series, a conman posing as a spy manipulates and steals from his victims, sometimes leaving them completely ruined.
