Unis-Cité offers 70 volunteer positions, 4 days a week, for 8 months starting in October 2016. Young people will be selected solely based on their motivation, with no requirement for qualifications or skills.
Grouped into teams, the volunteers will carry out 2 to 3 useful and meaningful missions during their service: friendly visits to isolated elderly individuals, raising awareness among low-income families about eco-friendly practices, supporting families with young people with disabilities, providing access to rights for vulnerable individuals, etc.
They will be trained to successfully carry out these missions and will learn to manage projects, while meeting people they would never have met otherwise (beneficiaries of their actions, other volunteers, leaders of associations, companies, local communities, etc.).
Since 1995, Unis-Cité has been the pioneering organization for Civic Service in France. Present in about fifty cities, it has already mobilized more than 12,500 young volunteers, including 2,500 in the year 2015.
Their monthly allowance will be approximately €573 (a base of €467, supplemented by €106 worth of in-kind benefits (food, transport, etc.)) and potentially a supplementary grant based on social criteria. They will also receive social security coverage and pension contributions.
