Children can discover the answers to all these questions after a visit to the winding streets of Old Nice and during a “Let’s Draw the Nice Fashion” workshop.

Exhibitions

Until November 3: “Mont Boron, Vacation Resort in Sight!” (Meeting at the Heritage Center, 14 Jules Gilly Street – Free entry)

The exhibition takes the visitor to the hill of Mont Boron, located on the cape of Nice, extending from Mont Alban. The Mont Boron hill started urbanizing in the mid-19th century. The development of this area subject to military easements transformed with the construction of the immense “Castle of the English” estate starting in 1856. This original residence marks the advent of vacation architecture in Nice. Many plots were then prepared and subdivided with luxurious residences. It is here that prominent figures of the Second Empire built their villas in magnificent landscaped parks. In 2016, this area was selected by the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage for the creation of the Inventory of vacation heritage of the City of Nice.

Until September 29: “1917: Nice the American” (Meeting at the Marble Palace Archives, 7/9 Fabron Avenue – Free entry)

Discover the impact of American presence in Nice, from 1787 to the eve of the Second World War, on tourism, leisure, arts, and charitable works. Programmed as part of the commemoration of the First World War, the exhibition received the National Label of the First World War Centennial Mission and the Label of the American Centennial Commission (WWICC), by a commission chaired by historian Antoine Prost.
