The Nice City Heritage Center, through the Little School of Heritage, offers workshops for young audiences entitled “The Heritage Adventurers” until July 31.
These thematic workshops invite children on a journey to the heart of Nice’s history through observation and experimentation.
Heritage Workshops Program:
-Monday, July 16, 23, and 30 ●●● “How about we take a pot?”
Introduction to ceramics, shapes and uses of terracotta, making a clay object. You can then see if, as the popular saying goes, the best soup is made in old pots.

-Tuesday, July 17, 24, and 31 ●●● “How about deciphering letters?”
You will explore the entrances of houses in Old Nice to understand why and especially how houses were built in the 17th century. Then, it will be up to you to create your own lintel…

-Wednesday, July 11, 18, and 25 ●●● “How about we gild the coat of arms?”
A symbol of the Middle Ages, the coat of arms mainly served to recognize friends on the battlefield. But did you know that in Nice, even farmers had their own coats of arms? After a presentation on the subtle art of heraldry (the art of recognizing coats of arms), it will be up to you to create your own coat of arms…

-Thursday, July 12, 19, and 26 ●●● “How about hunting the Leopard?”
A surprise tour guided exploration of the thousand and one splendors of Nice’s heritage. With a game card in hand, it will be up to you, young heritage adventurer, to assist Mr. Leopard de Fulginet. A fun discovery tour through the heritage riches of Old Nice.

-Friday, July 13, 20, and 27 ●●● “How about giving back change for your coin?”
How and with what currencies did our ancestors pay for goods and taxes. With maille, lire, pezzetta, and parpaiolle, it’s hard to figure it out!
