Hersant definitively “boss” of Nice-Matin: Actions speak louder than words

Latest News

According to information disclosed by the press, an agreement has been reached between Bernard Tapie and the Hersant group to end their association.

The compromise grants Bernard Tapie 80% ownership of La Provence, while Hersant would retain the Nice Matin group (Nice-Matin and Var-Matin) and the France-Antilles titles, whereas Corse-Matin would be equally shared between the two investors.

The agreement, if confirmed, will put an end to the discord between the two groups after months of disputes and back-and-forth.

Regarding the Nice-Matin group, it is known that negotiations are ongoing between the ownership and unions for a restructuring plan, which should lead to a cost reduction that the management set at 14 million as a prerequisite and that would be the condition for new investments or the arrival of new investors.

Now that the corporate situation has been clarified and defined, nothing stands in the way of the Hersant group fulfilling its duty as a shareholder: investing in “its” company!
